Coolpad M3 Review: Full specs, Features, Price, News and Performance.

This is the Coolpad M3. The latest smartphone from the stable of Coolpad Group Limited. M3 is an entry-level smartphone and was recently launched in China. It is currently available for sale on at 799 Yuans.

It comes with a glass panel and display notch which is now a trend in the smartphone industry. The latest biggest news from the company before the launch of Coolpad M3 was around May where it sued three firms of Xiaomi worth $10 billion for patent infringement.

The quietly launched budget Coolpad M3 features 5.85-inch IPS display with 1512 x 720p resolution and 19:9 ratio. The 171 grams and the 149.8 x 72.3 x 8.95 mm is really impressive for such an entry phone, it even gets more impressive when you consider the panel size. It has 2.5D curved tempered glass protection with an iPhone XS style notch on top of the display. The notch display cages the front camera and the side bezels are moderately thin with a thick-thin at the bottom.

There is no availability of water resistant but it comes with a fingerprint sensor at the rear and an AI face recognition technology at the front camera. Other than the fingerprint sensor, other sensors include the Accelerometer, Light and proximity sensor.


Processor, storage and Battery.

The mid-tier device is powered by Mediatek Mt6750 chipset which comes with eight-Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage is 32 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB with a MicroSD card.

All these are fuelled by the non-removable Li-Po 2,800 mAh battery which does not have wireless charging. The graphical performance of the device is Mali-T860 MP2 GPU which makes running games on Coolpad M3 considerate smooth.

Camera, Network and OS

It is fair to Coolpad to release a budget smartphone with a 4G network. It also supports 2G and 3G networks that is, Coolpad M3 is compatible with GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA and LTE. You have two card slot for nano sims to make calls and connect to the internet. Other available components are Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0 headphone jack, Wi-Fi hotspot GPS. Not available are HDMI, infrared and NFC.

The device comes with a total of three cameras, two at the rear and a selfie and face recognition camera at the front. The dual rear camera features a 13 MP primary lens and a 5 MP secondary lens which is probably for depth sensing. At the front: for selfies, and face unlock system, you have the 5 MP camera unit.

Coolpad M3 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Price and Availability

Although the pricing and availability of Coolpad M3 are not known in other countries at the moment. But in China where it was launched, the phone is currently available for sale on at a price of $115 which subject to change with time and stores.
