How To Program a Fios Remote To TV

If you just bought and subscribe to the Verizon Fios TV service, you will know that remote control is part of the hardware device you get. You will need to program your Fios remote to enjoy top a notch entertainment service from Verizon. There are several brands of remote control from Verizon Fios. Thankfully, you can program all of them using the same methods. There are two ways to program your Verizon Fios remote to your TV. You can either use the manual method or the code search method. Whichever method you use will get you the same result. Read further to understand the two methods in detail. 

How To Program A Fios Remote Using The Manual Method

You can only use this method if you have the correct Fios remote code for your TV brand. If you don’t, its best to skip to the code search method below.

Step 1. Turn on the Tv you want to program using the power button on the TV and your Fios Set-up Box. You can only proceed to the next step after you see live television.

Step 2. Find and press the ‘Ok’ and O buttons on your Fios remote control until the tiny LED button blinks twice and remains on. 

Step 3. Find the Fios remote TV code for your TV brand. The code is usually a 3 or 4 digits code. You can find the right codes for your TV brand here and key in the codes using the number button on your remote.

Step 4. Continue to press the CH+ button until your TV turns off. For each time you press the button, allow a second or more to pass before you press again. 

Step 5. Press the ‘Power’ button on your remote and test if the TV has been synced to your remote. You can do this by pressing any of the buttons on your remote to see if your TV responds. For instance, you can press the Volume – or volume + to decrease or increase your TV volume. If your TV works, then you got the process right. If not, you may have to check the code you used or try another code. 

Step 6. Finally, press the ‘OK’ button to save the settings. 

How To Program A Fios Remote With The Code Search Method

If you don’t want to go through the stress to find the correct code for your TV brand, then this method works best for you. 

Step 1. Turn on the Tv you want to program using the power button on the TV and your Fios Set-up Box. You can only proceed to the next step after you see live television.

Step 2. Find and press the ‘Ok’ and O buttons on your Fios remote control until the tiny LED button blinks twice and remains on. 

Step 3. While holding your Fios remote close to your TV, press the ‘Play button’. You will have to continue pressing the Play button until your TV turns off. While you press the Play button, your remote is searching through the database of codes for different TV brands to find the correct code for your TV. So you may have to press this for a little while until the correct code is detected. 

Step 4. You will know that the correct code has been found when your TV turns off. Once this happens, release the ‘Play’ button.

Step 5. Press the ‘Power’ button on your remote and test if the TV has been synced to your remote. You can do this by pressing any of the buttons on your remote to see if your TV responds. For instance, you can press the Volume – or volume + to decrease or increase your TV volume. If your TV works, then you got the process right. If not, you may have to check the code you used or try another code. 

Step 6. Finally, press the ‘OK’ button to save the settings.
