Although Royole Flexpai released a foldable smartphone towards the end of 2018, the idea of foldable smartphones is not still totally convincing to the average joe, the question of whether they can be made in reality lingers on for many.
Now we have a new update from one of the frontrunners of foldable smartphones-Xiaomi-which through its Cofounder and president Lin Bin released a teaser video of about a minute long to Weibo showing details about the anticipated gadget. In the video, the president can be seen with a tablet-sized gadget which shows the sides of the device can be folded back to transform into more of a compact phone.
Another interesting concept seen in the video is that the device does not only fold once but twice to transform from a tablet-sized phone to a smartphone that could fit smartly into the pocket. While the phone is able to be pocket-friendly, the same cannot be said for the price as we have seen that of Samsung foldable smartphone to cost as high as $2,500. The availability of the device is not anytime soon which means you will have to be patient before you can buy the device.
Below is the translation of the president post on Weibo.
